|| I thought of a cute thingy thing X3 The Merguy looks like the mermaid in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXiKFc… But a dude!
Yeah. Steve's gunna be adorable... I cant draw tonight so my creation will wait. ||
It had been four years since Steve had been dumped into his aquarium. He was caught in a fishnet when he was young and brought here to be studied. You see, Steve... Steve is a Merguy. No no, not a Merman. Or a Mermaid. A Merguy. Just.... a guy.
Steve liked to hide behind the coral décor, because he was just another thing on display now. He was identified, studied and released into a large tank where other fish were swimming about. Children would wait excitedly for Steve, who would come out and put his hand to the glass on occasions. But that was once a month. Lucky if twice. Children were often shooed away by their parents before they could catch a glimpse of his green/grey skin or a flip of his angel tail. His hands were awfully large and webbed and his eyes had no color. Just pupil and whites.
When it came time to feed, he wouldnt come out to eat. He waited until the Aquaruim was closed until he would go eat, making him very skinny because he ate leftovers from the sandy floor. He doesnt talk much either. Just an occasional whimper of fear or hunger.
Today, it's rather packed at the aquarium. Especially for a Sunday. Steve is doing his usual. Watching visitor after visitor, excited child after child go by. The day is going by rather quickly, and he is thinking about coming out once today. Maybe... If one kid puts their hand up to the glass he will come down and do the same.
Thats the moment Steve enjoys. That odd moment of connection. The only thing stopping them from touching is the glass between them.
You just so happen to be at the museum that day, and seeing all the bustling people around this one small area, you check it out.
You see the sign that says "Merman" and are instantly intrigued. Are you going to be the lucky person? Why not put your hand up against the glass to find out....
